- Abdominal aortaAorta abdominalisThe part of the aorta below the diaphragm, running down in front of the lumbar spine from T12 to its division at L4.
- Anterior branch of renal arteryRamus anterior arteriae renalisThe larger front division of the renal artery, lying in front of the renal pelvis and giving most of the kidney's segmental arteries.
- Anterior division of internal iliac arteryDivisio anterior arteriae iliacae internaeThe larger of the two divisions of the internal iliac artery, supplying most of the pelvic organs, the perineum, the buttock and the medial thigh.
- Anterior inferior pancreaticoduodenal arteryArteria pancreaticoduodenalis inferior anteriorA small artery from the superior mesenteric system that runs over the front of the pancreatic head to join its superior partner.
- Aortic archArcus aortaeThe curved middle part of the aorta in the superior mediastinum, arching back over the left lung root and giving the three great arteries.
- Appendicular arteryArteria appendicularisA small end artery, usually from the ileocolic artery, that runs in the mesoappendix to supply the vermiform appendix.
- Ascending aortaAorta ascendensThe first part of the aorta, rising from the left ventricle inside the pericardium to the second right costal cartilage.
- Ascending branch of left colic arteryRamus ascendens arteriae colicae sinistraeThe upper branch of the left colic artery, climbing behind the peritoneum towards the splenic flexure of the colon.
- Axillary arteryArteria axillarisThe artery of the armpit, continuing the subclavian from the outer border of the first rib to the lower border of teres major.
- Bifurcation of pulmonary trunkBifurcatio trunci pulmonalisThe point beneath the aortic arch where the pulmonary trunk splits into the right and left pulmonary arteries.
- Brachiocephalic trunkTruncus brachiocephalicusThe first and largest branch of the aortic arch, rising behind the sternum to divide into the right subclavian and right common carotid arteries.
- Circumflex scapular arteryArteria circumflexa scapulaeAn offshoot of the subscapular artery that winds round the lateral border of the scapula to reach the infraspinous fossa.
- Coeliac trunkTruncus coeiiacusThe first unpaired branch of the abdominal aorta, a short trunk just below the diaphragm that supplies the organs of the upper abdomen.
- Colic branch of ileocolic arteryRamus colicus arteriae ileocolicaeThe upward branch of the ileocolic artery that climbs on the beginning of the ascending colon to join the right colic artery.
- Common hepatic arteryArteria hepatica communisA short branch of the coeliac trunk that runs to the right along the pancreas and divides into the proper hepatic and gastroduodenal arteries.
- Common iliac arteryArteria iliaca communisOne of the paired terminal branches of the abdominal aorta, running down to the pelvic brim to divide into external and internal iliac arteries.
- Costocervical trunkTruncus costocervicalisA short branch from the back of the subclavian artery that arches over the dome of the pleura to the first rib's neck.
- Descending branch of left colic arteryRamus descendens arteriae colicae sinistraeThe lower branch of the left colic artery, running down behind the peritoneum to the descending colon and the sigmoid arteries.
- External iliac arteryArteria iliaca externaThe larger terminal branch of the common iliac artery, following the pelvic brim to pass under the inguinal ligament as the femoral artery.
- First posterior intercostal arteryArteria intercostalis posterior primaThe artery of the first intercostal space, given off by the supreme intercostal artery rather than by the aorta.
- Gastroduodenal arteryArteria gastroduodenalisA short artery behind the first part of the duodenum, normally a branch of the common hepatic artery, feeding the pylorus, duodenum and pancreatic head.
- Ileal branch of ileocolic arteryRamus ilealis arteriae ileocolicaeAn offshoot of the ileocolic artery that runs along the terminal ileum in the lower right abdomen, supplying the last part of the small intestine.
- Ileocolic arteryArteria ileocolicaThe last branch of the superior mesenteric artery, running to the right iliac fossa to supply the terminal ileum, caecum and appendix.
- Iliacus branch of iliolumbar arteryRamus iliacus arteriae iliolumbalisThe lower terminal branch of the iliolumbar artery, running into the iliac fossa to feed the iliacus muscle and the ilium.
